Nous allons regarder Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones.

Our game is called “Entertainment Central.”  It’s a relatively easy game made for 2-6 players.  Start on “Aller” and go to the left.  You roll the dice, move that number of spaces and pick up that color card.  You can answer the question in English.  If you get it wrong, you move back 3 spaces, if you get it right, you move ahead 1 space.  If you land on a Hollywood Star, you can pick up any card and ask any player the question.  If you land on “Ratez Votre Tour” you miss your next turn.  Go around the board 2 times and on the 3rd time around, move up the path to the “fini.”  The first player to make it to the finish wins.

We all contributed a pretty even amount to the project.  I made most of the cards, wrote the directions, and helped draw some pictures on the squares in the board game.

In the process of creating the game, I learned that making a board game is a lot harder than it looks.  We changed our idea many times before coming up with “Entertainment Central.”  I also learned that sometimes it’s hard to work with others on big projects.

I think our board game is very playable.  It is a game that is fun for everyone because it combines French with the type of entertainment that everyone knows and loves.  Although this board game was not the original idea that we had in mind, I am very pleased with the way it turned out.

The movie “Sicko” is a documentary about the cost of health care in the
U.S. compared to other countries.
It revolves around Michael Moore, who travels to Canada, France, the
U.K., and Cuba.
He interviews Americans who have been denied treatment by health care
insurance companies simply because the companies sacrifice essential health
services in order to maximize profits.
Many people living in the U.S. don’t have insurance and when they get
injured, they often have to find a way to fix
themselves.
Moore finds three Americans who became ill from volunteering at 9/11
Ground Zero, but were refused health coverage for their illnesses.
One of the volunteers was paying 120 dollars for medicine in America, but
they all traveled to Cuba and found that the same medicine costs around 5 cents
there.  There, they provide their names and birth dates and are given the top-rate, free care they deserve.  It was a shock to all of them that the country they were supposed to be enemies with was giving them the treatment they needed.
In France, Moore rides with the “SOS Médecins”, a 24-hour French medical
service that provides house calls by physicians.  He discovers that the French government
provides many social services, such as health care, public education (including
universities), vacation and day care for $1 an hour.
Compared to the U.S., the French and Canadian health care systems are much more superior.  In Canada, wealthy people tend to pay more for health care compared to someone who doesn’t make as much money.  It seems to work good since many Americans would like to have the same health care system as us, but I think it’s unfair to people who work hard for their money. I think everything about the French health care system is perfect.
According to “Sicko”, people who live in Canada, France, the U.K. and Cuba all have a longer life expectancy than most Americans.

I give the movie an 8 out of 10, I thought it was very interesting and I
learned a lot about the different health care systems.
